Living from the Heart
28 March – 2 April

Real change in the world will only come from a change of heart.
– HH Dalai Lama –
His Holiness the Dalai Lama also said that “Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them, humanity cannot survive.”
Life in the modern world keeps us very busy. Our striving for material goods and sense pleasures have become the main activity in our life. It seems that we always can do better, achieve more, and improve our conditions even further.
However, there is no end to this striving for comfort and it comes with a big cost. We have no more time for each other including ourselves. It seems that we are losing our values in exchange for more of what we want, and we disconnect from our heart and our true self.
If we want to live a meaningful life, our main purpose is not material gain, power or fame. Instead, we develop a genuine sense of love and compassion for others, and a concern for their well-being. By doing so, we’ll experience an inner sense of peace and contentment.
When we nourish connection with ourselves and others and live from the heart, we feel at ease with ourselves. We let go of the need to be defensive or protective, to proof ourselves, to impress others. Instead of being judgmental we find understanding for our own and other’s problems. Our capacity for truly listening to the heart of the matter is naturally present. We have become gentle and kind, and our compassion reaches out to whoever we connect with.
In this 6-day course we’ll discuss the reasons why we have disconnected from the heart. You will learn how you can change your view of life and your attitude so that you can connect with your natural ability of love and compassion for others. The course consists of teachings, meditations, and discussions, and more.
The course is for both beginners and more experienced students, and will be led by Venerable Lhundup Jamyang.
